And speaking of favorite whiskey drinks, here is mine. Basically it's an Old Fashioned, but I make it with homemade candied orange peel instead of orange slices and simple syrup. Delicious drink, doing Don Draper proud.
Candied Old Fashioned
- 3 pieces orange peel candy
- 2 oz whiskey
- 2 dashes bitters
- splash cold water
- maraschino cherry
- ice
Place orange peel candy and 1 ounce of whiskey in a shaker and muddle together. Transfer to a tumbler. Add remaining whiskey, bitters and ice. Add the water and stir to combine. Plop in your cherry and enjoy. Perfect summer drink.
